Anotation:
The article deals with economic performance (efficiency) of individual regions in the Czech republic. The economic performance is measured by the level of Gross Domestic Product per capita. Based on date of 1996 - 2001, the GDP per capita as well as its trends, are compared in individual regions in relation to the average of Czech republic and one another too. Also, a comparison is performed in terms of GDP per capita of European Union member countries and of candidate countries of European Union. The whole analysis aims to identity the relevant position of the Liberec region.
