Anotation:

In the introductory part the article states the reasons which caused the foundation of the International Monetary Fund. Then fundamental targets andprinciples of its activitiesare specified. Activities are analyzed in following relations: IMF in relation to American dollar as world currency, IMF in relation to regimes of foreign exchange rates, IMF in relation to international liquidity. The consultative and informative activities of IMF are also presented. The final part of the article is focused on brief evaluation how targets were fulfilled.
