Anotation:
Managing people is the favorite topic of many theorists and practitioners. Knowledge management brings the new dimension to this topic, because considers knowledge as a new strategic resource of the organizations. At the same time it should ensure the increasing organizational performance, profitability and competitiveness through usage of new technologies as well as new approaches to managing people, which are considered at the beginning of the new century as knowledge workers. In knowledge management technology plays only supporting role, therefore the main goal of this article is to describe the chronological development of the managing people in the past and to show the main problems connecting with managing people in the new knowledge society we will probably have to solve in the future.
